These extracts from a sample Verdi report show how complex farm information becomes a clearer picture of strengths, pressure points and questions to check on the ground.

1. See your farm’s resilience profile
The Resilience Wheel brings seven pasture and climate indicators together, including pasture stability, dry-period resistance and recovery after stress. It helps you and your adviser see relative strengths and where closer investigation may be useful.
2. Understand the pattern behind a paddock snapshot
Compare pasture condition across the farm’s monitoring areas (CMAs) alongside rainfall. Look for areas that recover faster, hold their condition during dry periods, or repeatedly sit below the rest of the farm.
The practical value: a shared evidence base for you and your adviser—helping you decide where to look closer and which patterns are worth following through time.
What happens after purchase?
- Arrange your enrolment. Contact hamish@biocharge.co.nz or 021 819 372 with your order number. The dedicated Verdi New Client Form link is coming soon.
- Provide your farm details and map. Verdi’s New Client Form is required before farm setup. For research, mark the application and untreated areas. The form collects data-sharing consent by tick box; there is no separate farmer contract.
- Agree the scope and reporting date. Verdi maps and monitors the whole property. Your report is prepared for the agreed reporting window and supplied digitally.
Your existing adviser keeps their role. Bio Charge supplies this service through Verdi; Verdi does the measuring. Bio Charge must complete Verdi’s confidentiality undertaking before accessing farm data.
Using the report for Silara N30 research?
The standard report is 12 months after the first application. A six-month report can be agreed where it covers summer: August–November starts provide the strongest window; summer starts can also work. Other autumn or winter starts should use 12 months.
Keep at least 1 ha untreated with Silara, and record the actual date and paddocks of every application. Use Bio Charge’s easy app for research photos, application records and feedback; Bio Charge passes application records to Verdi. Do not apply Silara to Groundshift control farms.
Check your package before buying separately. Eligible 100 L Silara research packages include 50% report funding; eligible 200 L packages fully fund the report if selected. Optional extras
Silica herbage testing can be arranged through Verdi’s Eurofins account on treated and untreated areas at the start and at reporting. Indicative pricing is $30 per test, approximately $160 per farm plus Verdi’s time. Confirm sample numbers, full costs and timing with Verdi. Testing, repeat reports and Silara product are not included in this standalone report purchase.
What the report can—and cannot—tell you
The report tracks satellite-derived pasture patterns. It does not directly measure feed yield or soil biology, and cannot by itself prove that Silara or another intervention caused a change. Use it alongside on-farm observations, sound management and any separately arranged measurements.
